I am Diane from Years younger treatments.co.uk; I am a registered / practicing midwife with 18 years’ experience, I qualified as a aesthetics practitioner in 2010 and have been practicing since , I offer both anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers.

Since starting my business I have built up a large portfolio of repeat clients, who have gone on to recommend me to friends and colleagues.

I know some people are hesitant when it comes to choosing an aesthetics practitioner, there are a lot of salons out there these days, who have unqualified beauticians offering the treatments, who have no medical training, are not registered with any medical body and are not insured. hopefully reading on will put your fears at ease.

I am fully insured and most importantly comply by the strict regulations in place regarding the prescribing of the products used in both anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments, I have a number of registered prescriber’s that prescribe on my behalf following a consultation and only use reputable UK based  pharmacies, who supply safe UK sourced products.

Botox Treatments – All Your Questions Answered

FIRST OFF — IS BOTOX GOING TO MAKE ME LOOK FROZEN AND EXPRESSIONLESS?

For Natural Results.  Botox is an amazing intervention for mechanical aging — some areas of face which are over-expressive can lead to early wrinkles e.g. forehead frown and horizontal lines, smile lines radiating from the corners of your eyes (also called the crow’s feet) . With the help of micro doses of botox your aesthetic practitioner can bring harmony and youth back to your face. In the right hands, Botox can leave you looking like a more relaxed, more youthful version of yourself.

GET TO KNOW THY WRINKLE RELAXERS

The very word — Botox has been synonymous with scary stories of giving a frozen unnatural look as it’s a neurotoxin that paralyzes muscles, but in the last few years botox has proven its self to be the perfect anti-aging friend, fighting the good fight against the age-related wrinkles and fine lines.

BOTOX TREATMENT IN A NUT SHELL

It’s as simple — your aesthetic practitioner will examine you and ask you to animate your face — frown, look up, smile, scrunch your nose, make a sad face, whistle, grind your teeth etc. After a thorough assessment of the musculature of your face your aesthetics practitioner will discuss with you what the crucial areas are that will make you age faster. Your physician will also ask you which areas bother you the most and then draw a customized treatment plan for you.

Once the treatment plan is decided, a authorised prescriber will ask you some questions re your health and well-being, then a private prescription will be completed and the botox will be prescribed.

Prior to the treatment the skin is cleaned and a numbing cream with 2% lidocaine may be applied (most clients do not require the numbing cream), on the areas to be injected. A micro 30 or 32G needle (insulin syringe) is used to deliver the correct dosage in the hyperactive muscles. The total procedure takes anywhere between 20-40 minutes from start to finish.

IS THE BOTOX TREATMENT PAINFUL?

After the numbing cream most people tolerate the micro needle pricks quite well. Botox when injected into the muscles causes slight burning and pressure sensation; most people refer to it as uncomfortable but not very painful.

WHAT ARE THE COMMON SIDE EFFECTS?

In expert hands most side effects with botox are minor. Post procedure, the injection sites look like tiny mosquito bites which resolve naturally in less than 20-30 minutes. As with any injectable there is a slight chance of bruising, which if happens can last 4-5 days. To minimize bruising  avoid blood thinners, like aspirin, ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil supplements, green tea, ginger etc. before any treatment with needles.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR BOTOX TREATMENT?

Botox generally takes three to seven days to take full effect. Your aesthetics practitioner should see you after around two weeks post injection for a follow up, if any retouches are required your aesthetics practitioner will take care of it.

These days, natural results are preferred, if too much Botox is injected it can lead to a frozen expression, giving off a plastic look. So make sure you talk to your physician about a natural outcome while discussing the treatment.

After an artistically fine-tuned treatment results should be — ‘has she or hasn’t she’ got any work done? — No one should be able to tell.

HOW LONG DOES ONE TREATMENT LAST?

Botox protein sits between your nerve end plates and muscles for 3-5 months, some people metabolize it fast and start to see muscle movement return in 3 months while some people are slow metabolizers they keep the action until 5 months. Though the general observation is that in people who have this procedure done regularly it usually tends to last longer.

WHAT’S AUTOIMMUNE RESISTANCE TO BOTOX? —

It is possible to develop a resistance to Botox, but this is extremely uncommon (1:10,000). What happens is that your body forms an antibody response to the Botox protein rendering it ineffective.

Other reasons for failure of botox treatment can be related to injection technique or inadequate number of units. If Botox is not stored properly, freshly opened or mixed properly the fragile protein can lose its action. The dilution technique is not relevant, but the total number of units injected is the key to get the right results.                                    If you do have resistance, there are other forms of Botulinum toxin that can be used.

HOW EXPENSIVE IS A BOTOX TREATMENT?

Botox is a custom designed procedure – one size does not fit all. Every person has a different musculature and the same number of units does not work for everyone. The dosage is decided according to the strength of the individual muscles e.g. some people need more for the frown lines and some need less, so the price always varies accordingly.

Is This the Year You Try BOTOX

Can you believe 2018 is here already and we are now in March? With each New Year, we make promises and plans for ourselves. If you haven’t yet, let BOTOX , be a part of your beauty resolutions this year.

I visit clients all over the Greater Manchester area because they trust my skills as an aesthetics practitioner, as much as they trust the product. BOTOX has earned its popularity for a reason. It’s been used to treat many medical issues since the 1980s, and it’s been approved for cosmetic applications since 2002. That means it’s helped nearly a generation of women and men safely smooth away some of their most persistent wrinkles, including crow’s feet.

At Yearsyounger Treatments, BOTOX is more than just a wrinkle smoother. My clients count on its versatility to help reduce the look of a “gummy smile,” minimize downturned corners of the mouth, slim and reduce the size of muscles in the jaw, erase visible neck bands, and more.

BOTOX is administered through injections. I use a very fine needle as well as gentle techniques to keep the procedure comfortable regardless of the condition you want to treat. The results of BOTOX can take several days to develop (dependant on each client), and they can last up to 6 months, depending on where the product was administered (areas of more muscle activity tend to have shorter-lived results).

I have been a practicing aesthetics practitioner for 8 years and have built up a large client base during this time, which is still growing, through recommendations from existing clients and my website and advertising.

If you are considering anti-wrinkle treatments or dermal filler injections, contact me on 07505520049 for a free no obligation consultation, either in the comfort of your own house or you can come to me.

DOES BOTOX COSMETIC ACTUALLY CHANGE SKIN QUALITY?

Human skin is a miraculous thing. It protects us from the harsh weather – be it driving wind or drying UV rays from the sun – and it even stretches with facial expressions and physical changes. Inevitably, over the years, the skin will begin to show age. Fine lines appear, deep creases show up along the forehead and around the eyes, and suddenly we look our age. Botox Cosmetic is the number one, non-invasive treatment for fighting the dynamic wrinkles that come after years of smiling, frowning, and worrying. But how well do you know Botox? Do you know how it affects the quality of targeted skin?

How does Botox Cosmetic affect the skin?

Research has pinpointed three important, biomechanical features of the skin: strength, pliability (or the ability to stretch), and elasticity (or the ability to recoil to its original shape). Over time, as the natural production of collagen and elastin dwindles, these three features also diminish. As the skin no longer stretches and recoils, wrinkles begin to appear.
Botox injections, while easing muscle movement and therefore relaxing wrinkles, also makes significant changes to the skin itself. The injectable increases the skin’s pliability, or the power for plumping and stretching. The ability to recoil, or bounce back to its youthful shape, also improves significantly. The temporary changes seen with Botox closely mimic those of more youthful skin.

The Limitations of Botox
Botox Cosmetic has a unique ability to flatten dynamic wrinkles, smoothing skin and restoring a refreshed appearance. This means that in less than half an hour, without pain or downtime, men and women can quickly and easily recreate younger looking skin with Botox Cosmetic.
Unfortunately, within four months of a Botox treatment, the skin will return to its previous condition. This may sound frustrating, but a simple and fast repeat treatment with Botox Cosmetic can maintain the results, with your skin never missing a step. Over time, as the associated muscle movement’s decrease, wrinkles in this area may improve on their own. Plus, should you be unhappy with the results from Botox injections, they are only temporary and skin will return to its original state in only a few months.

The best way to find out if Botox Cosmetic is right for you will be to speak with an experienced Botox provider.
I offer free no obligation consultations, where I can advise on which treatments would be best suited to your needs. So contact me today on 07505520049. Diane

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox

Frequently Asked Questions About BotoxFrequently Asked Questions About Botox

In recent years, Botox has become a popular way to reduce the appearance of fine lines and
wrinkles on the face. Many women select Botox treatments over other cosmetic procedures because it is a simple and non-surgical way to enhance their appearance. Following are some of the most common questions people have about Botox.

1. Does Botox work?
Botox is effective for erasing or reducing lines and wrinkles that happen as we age. The injections reduce the activity of the muscles that continually contract, which helps lift sagging mouth muscles, soften vertical neck lines, and prevent lines from forming in the skin.

2. Does Botox look unnatural?
Properly done, Botox does not give you an unnatural or “frozen” look. It’s important that the Aesthetics practitioner performing the procedure knows how much Botox to use for the size of your muscles and the lines you are trying to erase. Using too much Botox may cause your muscles to become stiff, and too little will not give the desired results.

3. Does Botox make me feel numb?
Botox affects the muscles, not the nerves, so it does not have any effect on the sensation of your facial nerves. It can be used to lift the brows and ease frown lines between them, but you will have full feeling in those areas and all other areas where Botox is applied.

4. Are Botox injections painful?
Because a needle is used to inject Botox into your muscles, there is some discomfort involved. Some Aesthetics practitioners will give topical anaesthesia just before the procedure or apply ice to the area to numb any discomfort.

5. Does Botox have any side effects?

Like any drug, Botox has some minor side effects that fade soon after the procedure. In a small number of cases one to five per cent some minor droopiness of the eyelid or eyebrow occurs for up to two weeks after the procedure. A few patients see some slight bruising around the injection site. These issues are only temporary, and should disappear after a few weeks.

6. How long until I see results from Botox?

Botox treatments are not instantaneous. Some results will show after a few days, but the full results will emerge after about 2 weeks. It is best to avoid aspirin and NSAID medications (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), around the time of the treatment, since pinpoint blue bruising can develop with use of these painkillers. You can wear makeup immediately, but heavy workouts are not recommended for the first 24 hours.

7. How long does Botox last?
Botox is not a permanent treatment. Its effects are temporary, usually lasting 3 ½ to 4 months but can be longer, depending on the patient

It’s Your Birthday, Botox

It’s your birthday, Botox! 15 years ago, in 2002, botox was approved as a safe and exceptionally effective treatment for facial furrows and lines.

Today it is used extensively for non-surgical face lifts by aesthetic practitioners

WHAT CA– USES WRINKLES (AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT) The dreaded wrinkle.

Everyone fears the day they look in the mirror and spot the first facial crease. These tiny etchings in the facial tissue are a tell-tale sign of the aging process. No matter how old you are, just a couple fine lines and wrinkles can give away your age, and even add a few “extra” years onto the appearance.

So, what really causes wrinkles? Is it stress? Not drinking enough water? If you understand where wrinkles come from, you have the power to stop many of these frustrating lines from forming. In the case of the unavoidable wrinkle, learning the solutions best suited for fine lines can help you eliminate these pesky crinkles, restoring a youthful appearance.

Wrinkle Reason 1: Sun Damage

The Problem: The sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays penetrate the skin’s surface, breaking down collagen and elastin. These collagen stores are vital in creating a strong foundation for the skin, giving tissues a plump, tight appearance. Without collagen, the skin becomes lax and sags. Unfortunately, UV rays are impossible to avoid every time we go outside, drive, or even simply sit by the window, not to mention trips to the beach or the tanning salon.

The Solution: Women should wear a high SPF sunscreen everyday – at all times – even on the way to the office or working at home. Cover up when outside for long periods of time with a large brim hat, sunglasses, and long sleeves. Avoid sun tanning beds altogether.

Wrinkle Reason 2: Ageing

The Problem: It’s a fact: wrinkles accompany the ageing process. Once a woman hits the 40-year mark, her body will be dramatically reducing its normal production of collagen and elastin. This means that even the healthiest skin will lose volume, becomes less firm, and sink on the face. The natural loss of fat that occurs about this same time, coupled with additional factors such as illness, weight fluctuations, and smoking, only exacerbate these changes.

The Solution: While there is no way to stop the aging process, you can be proactive with the innovative products and techniques available from you aesthetics practitioner. These can restore lost volume and boost the body’s own production of collagen. Fillers, will plump the skin while kick-starting new cell production for long-term improvements. Frequent hydrating facials and products with hyaluronic acid can keep the skin looking plump and smooth.

Wrinkle Reason 3: Expressions

The Problem: Every time you use the muscles in your face, the skin will move and scrunch. Over many years, these repetitive movements can begin to leave grooves or creases in the skin. When you are young, the plethora of collagen and elastin ensures skin will bounce back, but as these diminish, the wrinkles from laughing, frowning, and smiling are suddenly here to stay.

The Solution: Avoiding facial expressions is unrealistic. However, utilizing a muscle-relaxing injectable such as botox can actually help do just that. As Botox eases the targeted muscle, the associated dynamic wrinkle will go away for up to three months. Botox is not only great at erasing wrinkles in the short-term; as muscle movement decreases; the injectable helps to prevent deeper wrinkles from forming.

Dermal Fillers

Over the course of lives our faces will naturally change. During adulthood however some of these changes can affect your self-confidence. Fat and collagen under our skin gives our faces volume, shape and defined contours. Over time they diminish, leaving you with an aged look. For a face that reflects the vitality you feel inside. Dermal fillers are a treatment option which can help to restore volume to your lips and face, as well as smooth over wrinkles.

Dermal fillers: the basics

Application of dermal filler which uses hyaluronic acid. This substance is a natural component of your body, which makes it one of the safest treatments available. It is carefully injected under your skin to plump up your lips and other facial areas. By filling the spaces left by lost fat and collagen, it softens wrinkles and expression lines giving you a more youthful look.

 The treatment explained

This rejuvenating procedure only takes around half an hour. It is painless, but can cause some discomfort. To keep this to a minimum, I use a topical anaesthetic to numb parts of your face, such as your lips then I will apply the topical anaesthetic.

 How long does it last?

The dermal fillers that I apply are biodegradable, as this comes with the fewest risks. Over time they are safely absorbed by your body. This means treatments to your lips will last around five to six months and in other facial areas between six to eight months.

Another thing to keep in mind — A lot of people come to see me and point to their deepening smile lines from nose to mouth and ask I need Botox here — Botox relaxes muscles it is not a filler. It can’t plump up the volume like fillers do.

Botox is a custom designed procedure – one size does not fit all. Every person has a different musculature and we can’t inject the same number of units as copy paste in everyone. The dosage is decided according to the strength of the individual muscles e.g. some people need 1 unit for the frown lines and some need 2, so the price always varies accordingly.

Second factor controlling the price is how many areas need to be injected. And the third and most important factor is who is injecting? — Having a treatment with an expert injector with deep insight of your facial anatomy will cost more than having a session with a novice.

BOTOX IS MORE THAN A MERE WRINKLE RELAXER

Apart from anti-aging measures, Botox is currently approved for 27 uses by health regulators in some 88 countries. It is used in ophthalmology, urology, neurology and dermatology it works for migraine treatments, lock-jaw treatment (temporomandibular joint symptoms TMJ) and even excessive sweating in underarms, hands and feet.

New off label uses are being discovered and reported ever so frequently e.g. neck lift with platysmal band reduction, face reshaping with masseter injections, slender legs with calf muscle reduction, breast lifting, reducing pore size and controlling oil production on face, combating hair loss, control flushing face etc. to name some.

The bottom line is – Botox is a very safe anti aging treatment in expert hands. The results can be naturally subtle to frozen-in-your face depending on who you sign up with, so chose your injector smartly and you can preserve your youth and natural beauty for as long as you wish.
